Getting to Know: Ashley Richardson

Earlier this year, Compass Integrated welcomed Ashley Richardson to the team as an Account Executive, bringing with her previous agency experience across a number of vertical markets in the Tampa, Fla., area. Here, we get to know her a little better (and get really, really jealous of her travels over the years!)

Tell us a little about your role at Compass.
I’m an Account Executive, which basically means I run all aspects of my client’s PR and marketing strategy – from press releases, to media pitching to content creation, I oversee/assist it all. Every day is different, busy, productive and rewarding.

How did you get into the high-tech industry? My PR background started with working with an array of industries: healthcare, beauty, general business and security/technology to name a few. I always found security and tech to be one of the more dynamic industries and naturally gravitated towards it due to my love of hard-hitting news stories and data.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned about the security industry or PR in general over the yers? The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never think I’m done learning; the security industry is always changing and innovating and the second you think you know everything is the moment you get left behind. The learning never stops.

What’s your ideal (post-COVID) vacation? This is such a tough question! If I had to choose, I’d say spending a week or two in New Zealand just exploring. The landscape is beautiful and the opportunity for adventure never-ending. I feel like it’s the penultimate trip for adrenaline junkies and adventure seekers like myself.

What do you enjoy when you’re not working? Any hobbies? I love to travel, film/edit YouTube videos and I’m a big reader. I also like to stay active and try different types of workouts like yoga, Crossfit and powerlifting.

Tell us one thing that not many people know about you. I used to spar and box several times a week and loved it!
